Vine Giving Users Chance to Get Loop-y

The popular six-second video platform Vine is adding a new feature that tells users how popular Vines are.

The “loop” feature is available today on iOS and Android mobile Vine apps. It allows users to see how many times people have looped a video on Vine and in embeds across the web.

John Stamos Turns the Tables on Vine Star

StamosJohn Stamos was squeaky clean back in his “Full House” days, but earlier this week, he got a little risque with one of Vine’s most notorious pranksters.

Prolific Vine user Jerome Jarre, who is known for springing up on people armed with kisses, tried to surprise Stamos. But Stamos was ready.

The video, which has been taken down from Vine, featured Jarre sneaking up on Stamos to kiss kiss him on the cheek. Stamos must have known he was coming: he quickly turned around, laying a big wet kiss right on Jarre’s lips.

BET Awards announce host and musical performance on Vine

11-roseannevineThis year, Logo will celebrate Roseanne’s 61st birthday with a marathon of her 12 favorite episodes of her eponymous show and it will mark the first time that Roseanne will release a list of her favorite episodes of the show. Roseanne recorded Vines to introduce each of the episodes that will air, making this the first-ever Vine-hosted TV marathon. Logo has invested a lot into Vine, announcing in June that they will be producing the first soap opera exclusively on Vine. The Roseanne marathon will take place during the day on Sunday, November 3rd – Roseanne’s actual birthday – and we spoke with Shawn Hollenbach, Logo’s Manager of Social Media Content, to exclusively discuss the integration and the choice to use Vine. In just a few months the NBA will return to TV. Kobe Bryant however won’t be as he recovers from a bad achilles injury. Instead, he’s using Vine to stay relevant during his absence from television and the NBA. After joining Twitter in January and Instagram in April, Kobe Bryant has officially joined Vine as of late last night. Bryant’s first Vine shows him jumping off a 40 foot high-dive into a pool, a pretty amazing given that he is recovering from this injury. This is part of his quest to show off his quick recovery. Logo announces first soap opera exclusively on Vine

Vine is no longer just a trendy social media tool for short video. The Twitter-owned video app is now the medium in which logo will air a 22-episode series titled, “The Vines of Sauvignon Blanc.” The networked announced that this is the first soap opera to air on Vine and will follow, “the heart-wrenching tale of a wealthy vineyard owner who is told he only has two minutes and six seconds to live as his family plots for power and prestige, all while being incredibly pressed for time.” Here are the details.
