Drama Between ‘The Voice’ Judges Boosts Social Engagement

thevoiceYou could watch “The Voice” when it airs or catch it on Hulu. Or you could just read their Twitter feed. The sing-off competition is one of the most popular social television shows during its broadcast but you can get a full recap from the videos posted to their social media accounts.

Live-tweeting is hard to do. If you actually read through the #Scandal hashtags, you don’t get a full picture of everything that’s going on. It’s reaction and emotion based. “The Voice” team doesn’t engage viewers in the competition aside from the “Instant Save” or retweeting who your “judge boo” is, which is all pretty standard Twitter fare. Vine Giving Users Chance to Get Loop-y

The popular six-second video platform Vine is adding a new feature that tells users how popular Vines are.

The “loop” feature is available today on iOS and Android mobile Vine apps. It allows users to see how many times people have looped a video on Vine and in embeds across the web.

John Stamos Turns the Tables on Vine Star

StamosJohn Stamos was squeaky clean back in his “Full House” days, but earlier this week, he got a little risque with one of Vine’s most notorious pranksters.

Prolific Vine user Jerome Jarre, who is known for springing up on people armed with kisses, tried to surprise Stamos. But Stamos was ready.

The video, which has been taken down from Vine, featured Jarre sneaking up on Stamos to kiss kiss him on the cheek. Stamos must have known he was coming: he quickly turned around, laying a big wet kiss right on Jarre’s lips.

Exclusive: Logo celebrates Roseanne’s birthday with the world’s first ‘Vine-hosted’ TV marathon

11-roseannevineThis year, Logo will celebrate Roseanne’s 61st birthday with a marathon of her 12 favorite episodes of her eponymous show and it will mark the first time that Roseanne will release a list of her favorite episodes of the show. Roseanne recorded Vines to introduce each of the episodes that will air, making this the first-ever Vine-hosted TV marathon. Logo has invested a lot into Vine, announcing in June that they will be producing the first soap opera exclusively on Vine. The Roseanne marathon will take place during the day on Sunday, November 3rd – Roseanne’s actual birthday – and we spoke with Shawn Hollenbach, Logo’s Manager of Social Media Content, to exclusively discuss the integration and the choice to use Vine. In just a few months the NBA will return to TV. Kobe Bryant however won’t be as he recovers from a bad achilles injury. Instead, he’s using Vine to stay relevant during his absence from television and the NBA. After joining Twitter in January and Instagram in April, Kobe Bryant has officially joined Vine as of late last night. Bryant’s first Vine shows him jumping off a 40 foot high-dive into a pool, a pretty amazing given that he is recovering from this injury. This is part of his quest to show off his quick recovery.
