With the World Cup approaching, NBC Sports Digital partners with Soccerly.com

soccerly_background_googleplus_02Last Thursday, NBC Sports Digital announced a partnership with Soccerly.com, a site that launched a little over a year ago that has quickly become a top destination for soccer fans in the United States.  As part of the partnership, Soccerly will provide NBCSports.com and it’s ProSoccerTalk section with content about all major global soccer leagues – including the MLS and Premier League – and expanded World Cup coverage.

NBC Sports expanded its soccer coverage in 2012, the same year that Verus was rebranded as the NBC Sports Network.  The NBC Sports Network smartly capitalized on the growing interest in the NHL, but with many of the major sports tied up in long-term television contracts, the NBC Sports Network made a splash with MLS and Premier League coverage.

The cross-platform coverage of the Premier League has been a huge success since debuting this past August.. Through NBCSports.com and its NBC Sports Live Extra app, live streams from the Premier League have delivered 1.2 million unique visitors 4.9 million visits, 8.3 million live starts and 185.2 million live minutes watched on NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports Live Extra app. Read more
