Meet MTV’s Nev Schulman, VH1′s Drita D’Avanzo, CMT’s Cody Alan and Logo’s Ivy Winters at Social Media Week NY

MTV, VH1, CMT and LOGO have successfully made Social Media Week as sexy as Fashion Week. Today, at Viacom HQ in NYC, I’ll be moderating a panel featuring MTV’s Nev Schulman, VH1′s Drita D’Avanzo, CMT’s Cody Alan and Logo’s Ivy Winters to discuss “The Future of Social Media Interaction Between Fans and Entertainers.” Here are the details.

As MTV Insights’ Alison Hillhouse pointed out, “it’s no longer unusual for the biggest pop star in the world to wish you luck on your math test, or for a reality star to forgo therapy and solicit advice from 8 million teen fans.” These impressive stars are at the forefront of MTV”s social TV revolution and are taking the time to discuss the social web.

Also, “this is the first time Viacom will be bringing this eclectic group of talent together to discuss how they integrate social in their everyday lives, while also revealing social TV show strategies from the stars themselves.” Here’s a bit more about the panelists.

Nev Schulman’s Catfish is one of MTV’s most talked about new shows. This docuseries has exploded bringing to light one of the biggest phenomenons and issues on the social web – fake accounts and pretending to be someone you’re not. The season just completed it’s first season and is already casting for season two.

Drita D’Avanzo, the outspoken Mob Wives star lives and breathes social. Following her it’s easy to see how dedicated she is to responding to all of her fans to no end. Mob Wives is currently in the middle of it’s third season.

Cody Alan from CMT’s “Hot 20 Countdown” and nightly syndicated radio show, “CMT Radio Live with Cody Alan” has successfully grown both of his programs by taking interaction to a new level. His innovative use of social on Country Music has helped him grow a huge fan base on his own social channels and on CMT’s.

Ivy Winters is currently on season give of Logo’s hit Ru Paul Drag Race, a show that’s taken animated GIFing to a new level.
