Best social media campaign for TV — USA Network’s Psych HashTag Killer
Best use of journalism — NPR’s Andy Carvin
Best social media use for news — CNN
Best overall brand presence on Tumblr — BBC America’s Doctor Who
Best overall brand presence on Facebook: Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants
Best use of game mechanics in a social media campaign: Nickelodeon’s Kids Choice Awards 2011
Best fake Twitter account — @theFakeESPN
Lifetime achievement in social media — Ricky Gervais

One of the most entertaining moments of the night was a video called, “Tracy Jordan, 140 Characters at a Time” (1:04:00 into the show), when he tried to answer questions a tweet-length at a time. If you missed the awards, you can watch the video replay right here.

(Full disclosure: Natan Edelsburg, who writes for Lost Remote, helped put on the Shortys!)
