He’s Behind One of TV’s Most Social Shows, but ‘Game of Thrones’ Author Writes on…

His books are the basis for one of TV’s most social shows, but “Game of Thrones” author George R.R. Martin is still old school when it comes to writing.

“I have a secret weapon,” Martin said on “Conan” last night about protecting against computer viruses. Martin explained he has two computers: one for Internet searching and emails, and one for his writing–a DOS Word Processor–with no connection to the Internet.

Martin added that he hates modern systems that auto correct your lowercase letters with a capital: “I don’t want a capital, if I wanted a capital, I would have typed a capital. He also loathes spellcheck, noting that when writing words like “Targaryen,” he doesn’t need to be told he’s wrong.
