Roku launched the sweepstakes after a study it sponsored showed that watching TV is one of people’s favorite summer activities. 80% of respondents answered they’ve stayed inside to watch their favorite TV show, even on a nice summer day. 43% even came up with an excuse to justify doing so. Of those creating excuses, the biggest culprits fell between the age range of 18-24.
60% of respondents answered watching TV when asked what they do on a summer day. The next most popular activity was reading (47%), shopping (33%), jogging or hiking (19%), or attending sporting events (16%).
Bigger picture, 92% said they stay current with their favorite TV shows when they travel during the summer.
