BroadcastAsia: MediaCorp announces new ‘Toggle Now TV’ developed by Applicaster

MediaCorp has just revealed a new version of their companion app called “Toggle Now TV,” which was developed by Applicaster who will be presented today at BroadcastAsia and will be on a panel I’m moderating tomorrow. In Spain, ‘Survivor’ Gets Social with Applicaster

Mediaset EspañaMediaset España, one of Spain’s largest TV networks, has partnered with Applicaster to create a an interactive second screen experience for viewers of ‘Survivor.’ Applicaster is a participation TV platform that allows networks to integrate fan responses directly into live telecasts. In February, we wrote about how Univision was using Applicaster’s CrossMates platform to further engage with their audience.

In Spain, ‘Survivor’ airs on Telecinco  (owned by Mediaset España), and viewers are able to follow their favorite contestants and get daily summaries of what’s happening on the island via the Mitele TV app. A live primetime episode airs once a week on Telecinco, and the network uses Applicaster to gauge viewer feedback. Viewers are able to vote for contestants directly within the Mitele app, and Applicaster offers a timeline of social activity related to shows. Read more
