Updated: Hill Holliday has correlated Bluefin's data with the linear ratings and determined that "While there is a ratings peak at the time of the stunt, it's very similar to the other peaks throughout the Emmys airing" and that the stunt "possibly"could have helped increase viewership. Another Emmys have come and gone, which means that the fall TV season is about to kick into high gear. Last nights awards felt a bit like the Modern Family Awards Show, although Jimmy Kimmel's hosting was exceptional. Homeland also did extremely well and Hatfields & McCoys brought home a few well deserved honors. Louis C.K. was also a big winner bringing home two Emmys. The X Factor on Fox started its second season with a big social TV splash last week. According to Bluefin Labs, the show had seven times more social TV buzz than The Voice premiere had last Monday. Anticipation has been wild for the new season ever since Britney Spears and Demo Lovato were announced as new judges. The show has also launched some exciting new features for their app that premiered last season.

Social TV analytics keep getting smarter and smarter. Bluefin Labs CEO Deb Roy recently told the audience at the NBCU Social TV Symposium that "as soon as you have one advertiser that cares about a like or tweet, you are setting currency exchanges," and that, "we'll see standards being set." His company has just made a big announcement to offer brands a chance to start pushing these standards with their new "Bluefin Signals Brand Edition."
