2014 Times Square Ball app makes the New York New Year’s Eve experience available worldwide

459260863_640New Year’s Eve 2014 marked the fifth time that Livestream made it possible for the whole world to experience Times Square’s famous celebration. While the Times Square Alliance and Countdown Entertainment, organizers of Times Square New Year’s Eve, has partnered in the past with Livestream on the official app, For the first time, users were able to talk directly with the Times Square Ball, who shared its perspective on the  Times Square festivities via Twitter. Roku, Apple TV and now Chromecast have all been innovative in bringing tons of web content to your TV. Until now most of this content has been from Netflix, Hulu, HBO Go, Amazon Instant and many other on-demand style options. Livestream, the popular live streaming platform has launched its first Roku channel to bring “more than 75,000 live events a month,” from the web to your television. Read more
