LogoTV’s ‘Ice Queens’ simultaneously launches across TV, web, mobile, and social

mgid-uma-video-logotvTo coincide with the 20th anniversary of the Nancy Kerrigan and Tonya Harding Olympic scandal, LogoTV last night premiered ‘Ice Queens,’ a parody of the numerous made-for-TV renditions of the scandal featuring drag queens from ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race.’

The most interesting aspect of the mini-series is that it marks the first time a network has simultaneously premiered a mini-series across linear TV, the web, mobile, and social. The premiere launched on LogoTV, LogoTV.com, the LogoTV app, and on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Vine. Read more

‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ to premiere a week early in Logo TV’s new app

unnamedLogo TV, the Viacom network focused on LGBT content, has today released its first app – available free in the iTunes store. The app will be video-centric, and will contain a library of LGBT-focused films, authenticated access to Logo TV programming, and second screen experiences that will synch with linear telecasts.

To help boost app download numbers and to build buzz for its most-watched show, Logo TV will be premiere the first episode of Season Six of ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ exclusively in the app on February 17, a week before the February 24 TV premiere.

Exclusive: Logo celebrates Roseanne’s birthday with the world’s first ‘Vine-hosted’ TV marathon

11-roseannevineThis year, Logo will celebrate Roseanne’s 61st birthday with a marathon of her 12 favorite episodes of her eponymous show and it will mark the first time that Roseanne will release a list of her favorite episodes of the show. Roseanne recorded Vines to introduce each of the episodes that will air, making this the first-ever Vine-hosted TV marathon. Logo has invested a lot into Vine, announcing in June that they will be producing the first soap opera exclusively on Vine. The Roseanne marathon will take place during the day on Sunday, November 3rd – Roseanne’s actual birthday – and we spoke with Shawn Hollenbach, Logo’s Manager of Social Media Content, to exclusively discuss the integration and the choice to use Vine. Logo announces first soap opera exclusively on Vine

Vine is no longer just a trendy social media tool for short video. The Twitter-owned video app is now the medium in which logo will air a 22-episode series titled, “The Vines of Sauvignon Blanc.” The networked announced that this is the first soap opera to air on Vine and will follow, “the heart-wrenching tale of a wealthy vineyard owner who is told he only has two minutes and six seconds to live as his family plots for power and prestige, all while being incredibly pressed for time.” Here are the details. Last weekend, Viacom’s MTV, VH1, CMT, Palladia and LOGO channels were down at the Hangout Music Festival leveraging social TV, traditional TV and an impressive multi-screen experience. The festival, on the gulf shores of Alabama has grown tremendously now in their 4th year. Inside look at how Logo's 'RuPaul's Drag Race' is using Tumblr

Logo, "the entertainment network for savvy and trendsetting adult viewers from Viacom Inc.," has had some big social TV successes with it's highest rated show, RuPaul's Drag Race. For the fourth season, the network has developed a multi-legged social media blitz to compliment the linear launch. "Highlights include a fantasy football-like game on Facebook, live Tweeting with cast members (past and present) during show premieres, Tweets from fans displayed on TV during show premieres, and live animating GIFs on Tumblr," according to the network.
