Dijit Media Acquires GoMiso

Dijit Media, the company behind interactive TV guide NextGuide, has acquired GoMiso, the company which owns the popular TV check-in engine Miso, as well as social TV products SideShows and Quips. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

In a press release, Dijit said that it planned to leverage Miso’s technology to deliver even more customized social experiences to users.

The Summit returns to Los Angeles and will host it's first ever awards. 'In Plain Sight' farewell features cast-hosted Miso Sideshow

The original USA series "In Plain Sight" bids farewell tonight (Friday 10/9p) after five seasons, and USA has partnered with Miso to create a unique second-screen experience around the final episode. Using Miso's publishing tool, USA has created a Sideshow hosted by the stars of the show, who will say their goodbyes and share behind-the-scenes accounts of the show. Fans will have the opportunity to share their farewells, too.

USA debuts 'White Collar' on Miso SideShow

Last month Miso debuted a new feature that allows TV brands to create their own synchronized second-screen experiences, a sort of "Wordpress" for social TV. The SideShows, as they're called, appear inside the Miso app itself: a collection of companion content all tied to a timeline, appearing at precise moments in a live or recorded TV show. Using a publishing tool, brands can easily create their own SideShow.

Miso announces $4 million investment from Khosla Ventures

Social TV startup Miso has been having a great fall. They've secured partnerships with two MSOs (DIRECTV and AT&T U-verse) and now they've added another $4 million in funding from Khosla Ventures to their original $2 million, which, Google Ventures and Hearst Interactive Media participated in. At the recent Social TV Summit, founder Somrat Niyogi continued to remind everyone that Miso is now more than just a check-in. For Showtime's Dexter (their first launch partner last month) they synchronized, "interesting tidbits, facts, quotes, and more," almost like an opt-in pop-up video for the show...
