Exclusive: Telemundo Partners With E! Online, mun2, and Billboard for Latin Music Awards

latin music awardsTelemundo is partnering with E! Online, its sister network mun2, and Billboard Magazine to make the Billboard Latin Music Awards the most social awards show yet.

Lost Remote has learned that throughout this week, the Spanish-language network, in conjunction with the social media teams from E! and Billboard, will curate and air the top social interactions leading up to Thursday night’s awards show. Telemundo will leverage its partnerships with Spredfast (which recently merged with Mass Relevance), Nielsen SocialGuide Intelligence, and Telescope to create the social content.

It will feed over 20 hours of the best social media content taken from fans and celebrities to its shows “Un Nuevo Dia” and “Al Rojo Vivo’, also airing the content on its sister network mun2. The content airing will show rehearsals, behind-the-scenes moments, exclusive videos, and photos from Telemundo’s social media platforms, and of course, the awards show itself.

At the awards show, there will be a red-carpet Instagram wall, where celebrities answer incoming fan questions submitted through Instagram. There will also be a backstage Twitter mirror, allowing artists to dedicate a photo to fans.

E! Online will also be a companion platform on awards nights, offering their best and worst-dressed commentary, and more.

The 2014 Billboard Latin Music Awards air on Telemundo April 24 at 7pmET.

After the cut-off period for the entries, ePrize randomly selected a winner, which Telemundo verified using never.no’s moderation tools. never.no then took the winning photo and placed it in the final TV spot, which was sent to Telemundo. Latin Music Awards attracts double the tweets, ratings bump

It's not just the marquee events on English-language TV that are attracting bigger social TV numbers: last night's Billboard Latin Music Awards sparked nearly half a million tweets in both Spanish and English -- more than double last year total, Twitter said. It doubled the social activity score of American Idol for the night, according to Trendrr numbers. And NBCU said the Telemundo show delivered the best ratings in its 14-year history, up 16% over last year.

NBC adds Telemundo to local TV site deal with BIM

Broadcast Interactive Media announced today that Telemundo's TV stations will soon relaunch their sites on the BIM platform. BIM is already powering NBC's ten owned-and-operated local TV websites, and the deal with Telemundo adds ten more. "We selected Broadcast Interactive Media for its revenue-focused approach to site development as well as their flexible solutions including the Developer's Access CMS model," said Manuel Martinez, President & General Manager of WSCV-TV in Miami, and the Digital Group's business leader. "Telemundo is excited about the new partnership and the enhanced functionality BIM's technology will bring to our staff and end-users."
