Exclusive: USA Network Teams Up with UN to Raise Awareness About Human Trafficking

BtvRN8OIQAA0fwVTomorrow marks the first ever United Nations ‘World Day Against Human Trafficking,’ and USA Network is teaming up with the UN to spread the message.  The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) is focusing the campaign around giving hope back to the millions of victims worldwide of human trafficking. The UNODC, along with USA Network, is asking people to take a photo of themselves forming a hand heart - the internationally recognized gesture of love, care and friendship – and then share it across social media with the hashtag #IGiveHope.

While USA Network as a whole is getting involved, ‘Graceland’ particularly is leading the charge. The show has incorporated human trafficking storylines in seven episodes this season, and actors Daniel Sunjata and Serinda Swan have filmed special messages to raise awareness. Read more

Tune in for USA Network’s ‘Playing House’ social bash tonight

Playing House - Season 1Tonight, USA Network’s “Playing House” will premiere at 10/9c. The show “is a single-camera buddy comedy about what happens when two best friends come back together just when they need each other the most,” according to the network. In honor of the big premiere “stars and creators  Lennon Parham and Jessica St. Clair are throwing the ultimate best friend social bash in New York City and are inviting viewers to grab their best friends to join them via Twitter for unfiltered commentary, real-time reactions and ‘bestie banter.’” Read more

‘Psych All-Night’ social TV event results in huge gains for USA Network

psychLast Friday at midnight, USA hosted ‘Psych All-Night,’ a six-hour long all-nighter featuring six of the ‘Psych’ cast’s favorite episodes from the past eight seasons. The series finale of the show will air tonight at 9pm EST and will be followed by a ‘Psych After Pshow.’

USA hosted its first all-nighter for ‘Psych’ last February two weeks before the season premiere, and saw incredible results. It received  172,000 social mentions, and fans of the show voted more than 280,000 times for the episodes they wanted to appear as part of the marathon. The success certainly prompted USA to host another event, but the network pushed the boundaries even further this time around. Fans were invited to upload farewell videos to Instagram using hashtag #FarewellPsych, which were shown throughout the marathon. Fan tweets were also integrated into the telecast and displayed on the ‘Psychville’ part of the ‘Psych All-Night’ website.   Read more
