Twitter IPO Day: CEO Calls Site ‘Second Screen For The Live Experience’

CostelloTwtrTwitter CEO Dick Costolo made the TV news rounds this morning as the company had its IPO.

“Twitter has increasingly become the second screen for the live experience,” Costolo said on Bloomberg, adding that Twitter has become “the second screen to what people are watching right now.”

He stressed the need to continue investing in real time user engagement around live events so that Twitter remains “the public real time conversationally distributed platform.” Twitter set its IPO at $26 per share. It opened 73% higher than that at $45.10.
