What TV can learn from Running of the Bulls through Google Glass

A major European event is about to begin tomorrow, the Running of the Bulls. The festival which takes place in Pamplona, Spain attracts huge amounts of viewers and tourists and is televised in different capacities across the world. Starting tomorrow, those not in Pamplona  will be able to experience the exhilarating tradition like never before. RunningoftheBulls.travel, an Authentic Voyages company, announced the winners of its #ROTBthroughGlass contest, which will bring two people to Pamplona for this year’s San Fermin Fiesta.

The winners, Noble Ackerson, from Alexandria, Virginia, and Liza Gere, from Napa, California will join 1.5 million others in Pamplona, but both will be making the run while donning a pair of Google Glasses. They were notified via a Google Hangout, where both immediately accepted the invitation. “Both of our winners have incredible stories of personal challenge and triumph.  That’s what the Running of the Bulls is all about – people testing their limits and pushing through fear.  Noble and Liza will be able to relate to that and help us tell great stories about what happens on the streets of Pamplona,” said Mark Hellmann Regouby, founder of RunningoftheBulls.travel. You can tune into the HD webcast here.

TV should pay attention to this unique use of Google Glass and think about ways appropriate tent pole events can incorporate Google’s exciting new technology.
