Yahoo! NewFront: The average Tumblr sponsored post is reblogged 10,000 times

photoYahoo!’s NewFront took place tonight at NYC’s beautiful Lincoln Center. The presentation was led by CEO Marissa Mayer and CMO Kathy Savitt who reiterated their investment in a social and mobile internet filled with original and live video. Not surprisingly, Tumblr was at the center of the conversation. Mayer pointed to the fact that the average Tumblr sponsored post is reblogged 10,000 times to tell the room of advertisers how important the platform really is. 

Here’s Mayer discussing the importance of Tumblr to the Yahoo! network at the beginning of the presentation. We recently covered Tumblr’s big social TV report and now Yahoo! who owns Tumblr is telling advertisers that Tumblr is the place to be.

After Mayer, CMO Kathy Savitt (who continues to play an extremely vital role in Yahoo’s foray into TV) talking about the platform’s viewing audience and the four different areas they will be focusing on in 2014-2015.

Yahoo!’s programming announcements included a massive partnership with Live Nation where they will stream a concert a day for every day of the year and an investment in Yahoo Premium to gain access to more TV content.
